With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Gloria Jean (Dockery) Days of Sherwood, AR.
What follows is not the whole story, but a thread of it.
The heart keeps better records than the calendar.
Gloria “Deanie” Jean Days, Beloved Wife and Mother, passed away April 27, 2026 in Sherwood, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 30, 1957, in Little Rock, AR, to the late Robert Dockery and Blanche Brown. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Sid and Elma Howard, Nine Uncles and Aunts that she was raised with as her brothers and sisters, her sister Vhonda Joyce Robinson, and her daughter, Cherelle Days.Left to cherish her memory, her husband of 51 years, Van Days, her son Patrick Days (Alicia), Three grandchildren, Alyssia, Carter and Terrick Days. Two sisters Gwendolyn Jackson (Donnie), Jacqueline Simpson, and a brother Scipio Brown III (Wanda), Sisters-in-Law, Ramona Buffington(Thad), Lisa Iverson, and brothers-in law Eugene Gray, Jr. (Freda) and Bruce Iverson, along with a host of relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.Gloria was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in July, 1978 and her faith in the Bible has sustained her through years of illness, making it possible for her to produce a smile, a listening ear, words of encouragement or a laugh to anyone that came to know her. Her faith made her an uniquely upbeat and positive person and we will all miss those endearing qualities.Revelation 21:3-4“With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. {4} And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.
