A life of belief is a life of quiet conversation with something larger.
Albion – Gregory Carter, Sr., 71, of Albion, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Chateau Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Ft. Wayne. He was born on May 19, 1954, in Bryan, Ohio, and was raised by Fred & Betty (Kondas) Kish. He was a graduate of Central Noble High School and attended IVY Tech College. Greg married Robin Brown on November 10, 1975, in Wolf Lake, Indiana.
He had attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Albion, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kendallville, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Lodge in Kendallville.
He is survived by his wife, Robin, of Albion; son, Greg Carter, Jr., of Kendallville; daughters, Tammi Hays of Kendallville and Jennifer (Dillon) Schlabach of Garrett. Also surviving are grandchildren, Amanda Talbot, Shawn Bortner, Zachary Hays, Delylah Gaerte, Nathaniel Gaerte, Anna Schlabach, Jacob Carter, Kaylee Hall, and Evan Carter; and great grandchildren, Alissa Mickem, Andrew Nelson, and Lucas Piper. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tiffany Lynn Carter in 1981; son-in-law, Jeremy Hays; and a brother, Gordon Carter.
A graveside service will be 2:00pm, Friday, May 8, 2026, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion. Fr. J. Steele will conduct the graveside rites.
