James Franklin Turner, Jr., 71, passed away on May 3, 2026, at UAB Hospital. He was born on January 3, 1955 in Kentucky to James Franklin Sr. and Vonda Lee Key Turner.

Cullman Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.

James was a man who found joy in the simple and adventurous sides of life. He had a deep love for motorcycles, fishing, and cave crawling, always drawn to the outdoors and the freedom it offered. Those who knew him understood his appreciation for both quiet moments and rugged exploration.

He will be remembered as a good father and a hardworking man.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Louise Turner; brothers, Ray & Kenneth Turner; son, Christopher Turner; grandson, Jayy Turner.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Brandon Turner, Nick Turner, Rick Turner, Junior Turner, Jessie Turner; daughters, Rebecca (Kevin) Nail, Ara Rose (Sid), Tammy Turner; brothers, Roger Turner, Robert Turner, Paul Turner; sisters, Dean, Carolyn, Linda, Peggy, Nancy, Annie Ruth; grandchildren, Kelly (Tyler) Turner, Morgan (Kyle) Parker, Jessica (Dylan) West; great-grandchildren, Ariel, Damon, Kevin, Ares, Phillip, family and friends.
