What follows is written with love, by those who knew her best.

The story begins in 1956, in Roseburg, Oregon, with the arrival of a life that would be cherished by many.

What Janie gave her children, they will give to theirs.

Mary Jeanette Kimball, affectionately known to everyone who loved her as Janie, passed away at the age of 69 on April 23, 2026. She departed this world surrounded by the warmth of her family, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be carried forward by all who knew her.Born on November 9, 1956, in Roseburg, Oregon, to Orval and Jessie Hendrix, Janie was a bright light from the very beginning. She was raised in Winston, Oregon where she developed the kindness that would define her life.Janie's true life's work was her devotion to the Lord. She lived her faith every day through her hospitality. She believed that a warm welcome and a shared meal were the most powerful ways to show God's love to others. Whether it was a holiday feast or a simple gathering for someone in need, Janie's kitchen was the heart of her home. Her greatest happiness came from seeing people well-fed and comfortable.Janie's greatest pride was her family, to whom she was a constant source of strength and affection. She is survived by her husband, Lindsay Kimball; her children, Laura McMillan and her husband Bill, Debra Clark and her husband Allen, and son Steven Kimball.She was a beloved sister and is survived by James Hendrix and his wife Jeanie, Evon Bradshaw and her husband Oral, sister in law Bette Hendrix, Donna Sell and her husband Bill, Paula Sulffridge and her husband Larry, and Patricia Hutton and her husband Ron.Her legacy of love continues through her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will forever miss their beloved Grandma Nana.She was preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Jessie Hendrix; her beloved step father, Don Long (Pop's); her brother, Carl Hendrix; and her sister, Linda Stafford. She is now joyfully reunited with them in the presence of her Savior.Service InformationA celebration of Janie's life and her ministry will be held on May 16th at 2:00 PM at the Roseburg Church of God, located at 4051 NE Stephens St, Roseburg, Oregon 97470. The family invites all who knew and loved her to join them in honoring her memory and sharing the stories of how she blessed their lives.In keeping with Janie's love of hospitality and her joy in feeding and blessing others, the family asks that everyone please stay after the service and join them for a covered dish potluck in the church fellowship hall."To the world you may be one person; but to one person you may be the world."We will miss you every day, Janie, but we carry your love, your faith, and your spirit of hospitality in our hearts forever.
