With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Joseph Anthony Gambino of Clarksboro, NJ.
What follows is written with love, by those who knew him best.
Joseph spent his working life as ['mechanic', 'Matlack as a mechanic', 'Gloucester County where he worked as a mechanic'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.
There are losses that teach us the weight of a life.
Joseph A. Gambino age 88 years of Gibbstown passed away on Sunday May 3, 2026 in his home. He was born and raised in Penns Grove and lived in the Paulsboro – Gibbstown area all of his adult life. He was a veteran serving in the United States Army. Mr. Gambino retired from Gloucester County where he worked as a mechanic; prior to retiring he also worked for Matlack as a mechanic. He was also a drummer, playing in Philadelphia for several years with the Blue Notes. Mr. Gambino enjoyed photography, tending to his fish pond and watching the birds as well as studying history.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Donna Gambino (nee McNulty) of Gibbstown; his daughters, Michelle Romaine of Hammonton, his sister in law, Sharon (Mark) Graves of Salisbury, North Carolina; his granddaughter , Melissa Stillings, his nephew, Josh Holt; 1 great grandchild; his sister, Santina Drimisi of Mantua and his friend, John Kalnas of Mantua. Mr. Gambino was predeceased by his parents, Salvatore and Angelina Gambino and his siblings, James, Sammy, Gertrude and Ginny.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 PM Friday May 8, 2026 in Eglington Cemetery, 320 Kings Hwy., Clarksboro with military honors. Arrangement by McBride – Foley Funeral Home, Paulsboro. Memories can be shared at www.mcbridefoleyfh.com.
