Josie spent her working life as ['the Quinnipiac Club in New Haven'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
There are losses that teach us the weight of a life.
Josie Mae Woods, 96, a long time resident of Milford, CT passed away peacefully April 30, 2026. She was born in Waverly Alabama on October 28, 1929 daughter of the late James Paul Johnson and Willie Pearl Pollard (Trimble). After graduating high school Josie proudly worked at the Quinnipiac Club in New Haven, CT for over twenty years. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Ponton of Charlotte, NC and a host of family and friends. A graveside service is being held Wednesday May 6th in Beaverdale Memorial Park at 1:30 PM. The Celentano Funeral Home is caring for Ms. Woods arrangements.
