Marion Lester "Colorado" Singleton, Jr.

July 9, 1947 - May 2, 2026

Marion Lester "Colorado" Singleton, Jr., 78, of Kountze, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026. He was born on July 9, 1947, in Ballinger, Texas to Ella Mae Payne and Marion Lester Singleton, Sr.

Known to many as "Colorado," he was a man defined by his strong work ethic, love for the outdoors, and deep devotion to his family. An avid hunter and fisherman, he found his greatest peace in nature-whether in the woods, on the water, or simply enjoying the quiet outdoors. He was a natural handyman and lifelong tinkerer, always working with his hands and finding a way to fix or build just about anything.

He shared 55 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, Loretta Ann Singleton, building a life rooted in love, hard work, and perseverance. Together with Loretta, he proudly helped grow Boutte's Boudin into a family business and local staple since 1994-a legacy that reflects his dedication and entrepreneurial spirit.

Marion was a hardworking provider throughout his life. He spent years at the papermill in Evadale and with Gulf States, later working as a skilled pipefitter and welder with Local 195. His work ethic carried him overseas for many years, always doing what was needed to support his family.

He was his grandchildren's biggest fan and proudest supporter, rarely missing a game, event, or activity. Whether on the sidelines or in the stands, he showed up with encouragement, pride, and unwavering love-creating memories they will carry with them forever.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella Mae Payne and Marion Lester Singleton, Sr.; and his brother-in-law, Jerry Isbell of Orange.

He is survived by his loving wife, Loretta Ann Singleton; his children, Karie Singleton and Brian Sutton of Lumberton; Marion L. Singleton, III "Trey" and his wife Rebecca of Coppell; and Ashley Frank and her husband Hardy of Lumberton. He was a proud grandfather to Alexus Singleton of Houston, Sydney and Jax Singleton both of Coppell, Keatyn Young of Lumberton, Halle Frank and Hayden Frank, both of Lumberton. He also leaves behind his loyal companion and best friend, Buster of Kountze.

He is survived by his sisters, Lana Isbell of Orange and Linda Smith and husband Darren, of Orange, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

A gathering of Mr. Singleton's family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m., Monday, May 11, 2026, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, Vidor.
