Michael Eddie Garland, 71, was born on May 24,1954. He was reborn into Glory on April 29, 2026.He attended Ashbrook High School and studied at UNC Charlotte. Eddie was a radio announcer for many years. He once had a job that took him to Asheville NC, which he described as the best time of his life. He had a wonderful singing voice and played the guitar beautifully. Eddie loved to play chess and backgammon. His other interests were History of any kind, reading, learning, and a love of music.He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ethel Garland, maternal grandparents, Turner and Iowa Hall affectionately known as Mama Hall, paternal grandparents Dave and Mary Garland, and his sister Deborah Garland.He is survived by his sister Julia Garland Wallace (Jason), nephews David Garland , Andrew Wallace and numerous cousins.A graveside service officiated by Reverend Dan Oedy, will be held Friday, May 8, 2026, 3:00 PM, at Long Creek Cemetery, 210 Long Creek Church Road, Dallas, NC.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis,TN 38105.The South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service is honored to serve the Garland family.
