Nicanor “Nick” Fuentes, 83, of Waco, Texas died at his home after a short battle with cancer on Thursday, April 23, 2026.Born in Mart, TX to Emilia Villasenor and Reginaldo Fuentes, Nick later started school at Nalley Elementary in East Waco and attended high school in San Antonio. He entered the Army in 1963 where he earned his GED while in Germany as part of the 4th Armored Division. He was married to Rosa A Silva in 1968 until her passing in 2003. He was employed at Gulf States Paper Co. as a machine operator and supervisor while raising a family of three children, and using his love for music to serve his church family.Nick was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rosie, and his siblings, Richard, Rudy, Raymond and Reginaldo Jr., Rosa Renavato de la Cruz. He is survived by his children David, Timothy and Tamra Fuentes; grandchild Domasio, and great grandchildren DJ, Serenity, Maciano, Trinity and siblings Carolina Coker, Camila Castellano, Catherine Martinez Eva Fuentes.Visitation is Friday, May 1, 2026 from 10AM to 11AM at First Spanish Assembly of God, 3301 Clay Ave, Waco, TX 76711 followed by Celebration of Life service, 11AM. Burial will immediately follow with military honors at Santa Cruz Cemetery, 8220 FM 1860 Riesel 76682.
