1960 - 2026
Nicky DeWayne Rucker age 66 of Bismarck Township passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on May 2, 2026.
He was born February 24, 1960, in Lafayette, Indiana to Lloyd and Lenora (Petrey) Rucker.
Nicky graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1978. On November 11, 1981, he married Nancy Jo Karwacinski in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. Nicky retired from Purdue University in 2021 then he and Nancy moved to Lost Lake. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing his guitar, traveling and exploring. He was a composer of music and was very strong in his faith.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; three daughters, Jennifer (Nick) Haygood, Elisabeth (Nick) Schenkel and Chelsea Rucker; seven grandchildren, Skylar, Nicholas, Beckett, Bailey Jane, Blake, Elisa and Jeffrey Jr.; six siblings, David (Lisa) Rucker, Angie (Brent) Hiles, Lisa Rucker, Greg (Stacey) Rucker, Randy (Lori) Rucker and Teresa (Steve) Hamilton; many nieces and nephews and his good friend, John Brantley.
Nicky was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Lenora Rucker.
A graveside service is set for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 5th at Bismarck Township Cemetery with Brother Tim Smalley officiating. A celebration of Nicky's life will follow at the Bismarck Township Hall in Hawks.
Memorials may be given to: National Kidney Foundation or National Diabetes Foundation in memory of Nicky Rucker.
