Patricia Newton Skaggs, a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, great grandmother and retired LPN nurse, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026 at her son Mike’s home. Born on December 15, 1944, in Fulton, New York, Patricia lived a life marked by dedication, love for her family, and a strong work ethic that spanned diverse roles and industries.Patricia completed her high school education and attended ABAC before embarking on a varied career path. She contributed her skills and energy to several prominent companies, including General Electric, Birdseye, and Comstock, demonstrating versatility and commitment in each role. Additionally, she served her country with honor as a cook at the Navy NCO school in Monterey, California, a position that reflected both her culinary talents and her dedication to service. Later in life, she devoted herself to nursing, fulfilling her role as an LPN with compassion and care until her retirement.A private interment will be held in Lawrence Cemetery at a later date.Beyond her professional life, Patricia was an artist at heart who found joy in fishing, drawing, crocheting, and knitting. She previously attended Vanceville Congregational Church, Patricia’s faith was a cornerstone throughout her life, guiding her actions and providing strength.Family was Patricia’s greatest love. She was the beloved wife of Dolphus Skaggs, to whom she was married for forty-nine years until his passing in 2018. She is survived by her children: ; Michael and Angie Sivalia, Rudolph and Mary Skaggs, Patrick and Heather Skaggs, and Lance and Renee Skaggs, her step children, Sandra Hall, Joyce Foster, and Tim Skaggs, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She is also survived by her sisters, Priscilla Ferrara, Jo Ann Green, Kathleen Bannister, Carleen Waugh and her brothers, Wayne Newton, Raymond Newton and Frank Newton, along with numerous nieces and nephews.Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Frank Hayes Newton, Sr., her mother, Almeda Cunningham Newton, her son, Rocky Skaggs, her sister, Donna Newton and her brother Fred Newton. These losses were deeply felt and shaped the strength and compassion she shared with all who knew her.Patricia Skaggs will be remembered not only for her steadfast commitment to her family and community but also for the warmth of her spirit, the vibrancy of her creativity, and the grace with which she faced life’s challenges. Her memory remains a cherished treasure to all fortunate enough to have known her.Albritton Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements
