With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Priscilla Ione Huestis of Hanover, PA.
Below, the family shares some of what made her life meaningful.
Every life leaves an echo in the lives it has known.
Priscilla Ione (Wagar) Huestis, 79, of Hanover, formerly of Coldwater, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. She was the loving wife of the late Ellwood "Jim" James Huestis, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage before his passing in 2021.
Born on December 10, 1946, in Coldwater, Michigan, Priscilla was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Phyllis Leona (Loose) Wagar.
Priscilla was born and raised in Coldwater and was a proud graduate of Coldwater High School. Throughout her life, she embraced many roles, working as a preschool teacher and beautician, along with other part-time positions, while dedicating herself to raising her family. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy came from caring for those she loved.
A woman of compassion and resilience, Priscilla was especially proud of her 30 years of volunteer service across five different hospitals, where she provided support and comfort to ostomy patients and assisted ostomy nurses. As a colon cancer survivor herself, she brought understanding, encouragement, and hope to countless individuals facing similar challenges.
Priscilla is survived by her two sons, Ken Huestis and his wife Lori of Coldwater, Michigan, and Chad Huestis and his wife Julie of Hanover; her cherished grandchildren, Stephanie (Dillon), Bailey (Kevin), Roni, and Zachary; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Rylee, Levi, and Wyatt. She is also survived by her sister, Teresa Yoder of Coldwater, Michigan, as well as many loving extended family members and friends.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public viewing or services. Her family will privately lay her to rest beside her husband at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
