Richard was a loving, kind, and creative man who touched the lives of many with his steady presence and generous heart. He was a Christian and lived his life in a manner that reflected his beliefs, showing compassion, humility, and a strong sense of duty to those around him. Those who knew him will remember his warm spirit, his steadfast character, and the many ways he gave of himself to his family, his community, and his country.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he was wounded in combat and received the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice. His military service remained an important part of his life, and he carried the values of honor, discipline, and commitment with him always. Following his service, he built a long and dedicated career as a Marketing Supervisor at OGandE, where he worked faithfully for thirty years and earned the respect of his colleagues through his professionalism and dependable nature.
Richard was a graduate of Oklahoma Christian College, and he valued education and personal growth throughout his life. He was also deeply involved in his community and supported many causes and organizations. He also devoted extensive time to volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America, where he served as a leader, district commissioner, and Eagle Scout leader, helping guide and encourage countless young people along the way.
In his free time, Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, using a HAM radio, and playing the banjo and guitar. These interests brought him joy and reflected the thoughtful, creative side of his personality. He found satisfaction in both the outdoors and in music, and he shared those pleasures with the people closest to him.
