Opelousas-Funeral services will be held for Rickie Lester Bordelon at 3:15 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel, 2309 George Dr. Opelousas, LA 70570. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, Louisiana.Visitation will begin at 9:00 am with a Rosary at 3:00 pm in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.Rickie, age 64, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at his home in Washington, Louisiana. He succumbed to a battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Born on May 29, 1962, in Opelousas, to Hushel and Frances Wyble Bordelon. Rickie lived a life marked by dedication, passion, and a deep connection to his community and family.Rickie, was a 1980 graduate of Amy Bradford Ware High School. He was a graduate of USL, Class of 1986, where he earned degrees in Computer Science and Communication Operations. Rickie was self-employed, proudly owned and operated his company, for 25 years, Light Line of Louisiana. He was a Lightline Dealer for International Scout parts. He was a legend in the Jeep world and sponsored numerous events for Louisiana Jeepers and Jeep Jaunts. His commitment and entrepreneurial spirit were evident in the success and longevity of his business, which stood as a testament to his hard work and perseverance.Rickie was a man who loved the outdoors and adventures, especially enjoyed riding in the International Scouts and Trail Riding Clubs. He was an active member of the Louisiana 4x4 Jeep Club, Louisiana Jeepers, and International Harvester Club. He had a particular fondness for Scouts & Jeep Vehicles, a passion inspired by his grandfather., Lester Bordelon. These hobbies were a source of joy and camaraderie, reflecting his vibrant spirit and love for life.Rickie was deeply loved by those who knew him. He leaves behind his mother, Frances Wyble Bordelon of Washington, Louisiana; his brother, Randy Bordelon (Vanessa) of Washington, Louisiana; and his sister, Cheryl Coburn (Gary) of Palmetto, Louisiana. He is also survived by his cherished nieces and nephews: Wendell Bordelon, Erica Lalonde, Brittnay Doucet, Monique Butler, Grant Coburn, Kyle Coburn, Derrick Coburn, and Tiffany Lakamp, his step son, Chase Hull (Brandi) and two step granddaughters, Camden and Piper Hull all of Baton Rouge, LA. Rickie's beloved dog, Roux, was a faithful companion during his life. In addition, he was lovingly cared for by his devoted caregivers Dashawana, Lori, Glenda, and Pauline.Rickie was preceded by his wife, Brenda Manda Bordelon, his father, Hushel Bordelon, his grandparents, Lester and Lilly Lafleur Bordelon, Anna and Louis Jacobs, and P.J. and Marguerite Wyble, and mother-in-law, Isadora Manda.His gentle nature, unwavering kindness, and loving heart made an indelible impression on those around him. Rickie Lester Bordelon’s life was one of earnest dedication to family, friendship, and the things he held dear.
