With hearts full of gratitude, love, and sorrow, we announce the passing of Rosa Maria M. Hernandez, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother to over 43 descendants, and a cherished member of her community. She was called home to heaven on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the age of 95, where she was reunited with the love of her life and welcomed with open arms by her loved ones in heaven.She departed this world in so much peace, wrapped in an abundance of love. She lived a remarkable life and was known for her deep love, strength, and devotion to her family. She shared countless stories and was admired for her wisdom, wit, savviness, and love of learning. Her infectious laughter brought light and joy to everyone around her.In her heart, she cultivated a garden for her family with seeds of love, wisdom, and strengthFilled with such shades of protectionthat allowed enough sunshine to brighten daysThrough the years, she watched it grow,always carefully tending to it.She was a Rose that bloomed just for usThe matriarch of her gardenStanding tall, resilient, fearless, With such poise and beautyA pillar of strengthWith petals so soft, kind, and generousRooted in faith and devotion to her family.Filled with so much peace and pride in her workShe left us this beautiful gardenfilled with the endless love and beauty she once nurturedLeaving seeds in everyone's heartsForever nurturing usand blooming within each generation to come.She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Rosalio Hernandez; her parents, Marcelino and Aurora Martinez; her brothers, Ramon Martinez and Marcelino Martinez Jr.; her sister, Juanita Bosquez; and her daughter-in-law, Zulema Hernandez.Her legacy is carried by her eleven devoted children: Manuela H. Martinez (Miguel Jr., Deceased), Luis (Rosa) Hernandez, Rosalio (Luz) Hernandez, Daniel (Maria Guadalupe, deceased) Hernandez, Agustin (Diana) Hernandez, Amalia (Mayo) Caceres, Ana (Ricardo) Diaz De Leon, Maria Aurora Hernandez, Patricia Lerma, Adriana Elsa Hernandez, and Gloria Ester (Sergio) Delgado, Jr. A visitation to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels located at 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, May 9, 2026, departing at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home chapel. A Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church, followed by committal services and interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.Rosa's life remains a shining example of love, faith, and family devotion, leaving behind a profound and enduring impact on all who knew her.
