With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Samuel Franklin Vines of Jeffersonton, VA.

Below, a small portrait of a life that will not soon be forgotten.

We measure lives in love, not minutes.

Samuel Frankln Vines, known affectionately as Sam, left us far too soon on April 30, 2026, at his home in Jeffersonton, VA. Born on April 15, 1986, in Dallas, TX, Sam was a man whose heart was as expansive as his warmth was genuine. His sudden passing has created an irreplaceable void, felt deeply by all who knew him and loved him.Sam was not only a dedicated and trusted professional but also a dear friend to many. Abrar Ahmed, his boss and close companion at GXO, described Sam as more than an employee, emphasizing the steadfast support and friendship Sam offered. Sam’s presence at work was a constant source of encouragement and camaraderie; he truly had everyone’s back and never hesitated to lend a hand.At home, Sam’s heart beat strongest for his beloved furry companions—three Rottweilers and three cats who found in him their personal pillow and guardian. His caring nature extended beyond his pets to those around him; he was known for his willingness to help anyone in need, bringing comfort and laughter with his great sense of humor that matched his kindness perfectly. Sam gave as good as he got, creating cherished moments of joy and connection.Sam’s love for life was evident in his joyous appetite for Mexican food—a simple pleasure that brought him happiness and perhaps a bit of spice to his everyday routine. Throughout it all, his proudest accomplishments were quietly yet deeply felt: taking care of his household, doting on those he loved each day, and being a steadfast presence in their lives. He is survived and forever remembered by his partner Dawn Cutler and her daughter Brianna Manchini, who shared in Sam’s warmth and kindness. Laurie Melanson, a dear friend, and Abrar Ahmed, who knew him as both a boss and a friend, along with the entire GXO work family, hold his memory close. Sam’s legacy also touches a wider circle of family, known and unknown, who are left to grieve and celebrate the remarkable man he was.Sam was preceded in death by his mother, Dian Wallace, and his father, Rube Vines, who undoubtedly shaped the compassionate spirit he carried through life. His passing leaves a silent space filled with memories of laughter, care, and unwavering loyalty. Sam will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. May his soul find the peace he so richly deserves, and may those who loved him find comfort in the lasting imprint he leaves behind.
