With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Shirley Jean Weeks of Sheridan, AR.
These are the contours of a life that meant a great deal to many.
Shirley spent her working life as ['various jobs over the years'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
What is taught through a parent's example outlasts what is taught through their words.
Shirley Jean Weeks, 74, of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, May 5th, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born November 22, 1951, in Pine Bluff. She attended Del Norte High School in Albuquerque, NM. As a mother, she poured her love into her three children Shane, Cheri, and Michelle with unwavering devotion. She was a loving homemaker and worked at various jobs over the years, but her true calling was that of a compassionate caregiver. Her life was defined by kindness, service, and a deep love for her family and the people around her. She spent many years caring for the elderly, offering comfort, dignity, and companionship to those who needed it most.
Shirley loved going on long drives with her husband Melvin, laughing freely, and embracing life. Above all, she cherished time with Melvin and her family. Her presence made ordinary moments feel special, and her love will continue to guide those she leaves behind.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Finis Doolin and Mary Armstrong Doolin; her two brothers, Bobby Doolin and Cecil Finis Doolin, Jr. (Junior) and her sister Wanda Heritage.
Survivors include her husband Melvin; son and daughter-in-law, Shane Bristow (Kim); daughters and sons-in-law, Cheri Patrick (Ryan) and Michelle Harless (Chris); one brother, Howard Doolin; one sister, Mary "Cricket" Cheshire; grandchildren, Sydney Grace Herz (John), Dawson Milton Bristow, Tyler Garr, Brennan Patrick, and Hayley Patrick; great-grandson, Chase Patrick, special cousin, Martha Jane Kasiah; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. with Mr. Aaron Erhardt officiating.
