Teddy spent his working life as ['coal miner and in construction'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

TEDDY DOYLE ELSWICK, 67, of Vansant, VA, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Buchanan General Hospital. Born in Grundy, VA, he was the son of the late Ed and Dorothy (Stiltner) Elswick. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Pentecostal Faith. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and worked as a coal miner and in construction. He loved building model cars, watching NASCAR especially Dale Earnahrt, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Eddie Elswick, John Mark Elswick; half-brothers: Vester Keen, Grover Keen, Chester Keen; half-sisters: Mary Jane Lane and Alphie Ann Keen.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Crystal Elswick, Lebanon, VA, Traves Elswick, Lebanon, VA, Jessica Elswick, Lebanon, VA; grandchildren: Amber Stiltner, Scotty Stiltner Jr., Jasper Martin, Lilly Beth Elswick; fiancé: Peggy Conley, Vansant, VA; 5-brothers: Timothy Elswick, Oakwood, VA, Brady (Linda) Elswick, Oakwood, VA, Monte (Tammy) Elswick, Grundy, VA, Bill Elswick, FL, Danny Elswick, Vansant, VA; 3-sisters: Sandra (Larry) McComas, Hurley, VA, Sherry Sesco, Vansant, VA, Marsha Elswick, Vansant, VA.
Also, survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
Funeral Services for TEDDY DOYLE ELSWICK will be conducted Friday, May 8, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Ward and Eddie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Elswick and Keen Cemetery on Devils Branch.
Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.
