Some doors close softly, and still leave the room changed.
Violetta Jane Williamson, who was born on February 25, 1929, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and passed away on May 1, 2026, at Abington Manor in Easton, Pennsylvania, lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to family, steady work, and quiet creativity. She was known for her gentle spirit, her kind heart, and the many ways she enriched the lives of those around her.
Violetta spent her early years in the Lehigh Valley, where she developed the values of hard work, loyalty, and perseverance that would guide her throughout her life. She carried those qualities with her into adulthood and into her career, becoming a dependable and respected member of the Bethlehem Steel family. She worked as a File Clerk for 17 years, remaining with the company until her retirement in 1984. Her years there reflected her strong sense of responsibility and her commitment to doing her work well. Prior to working at the Steel, she worked at the Laros Silk Mill Sewing Factory for many years.
Outside of her career, Violetta found joy in simple and creative pursuits. She enjoyed crafts, writing stories, sewing, and knitting, and she took pride in the time and care she devoted to each of them. These interests were a reflection of her thoughtful nature and her appreciation for making something beautiful with her hands. Her creativity brought comfort and pleasure to her own life and to those fortunate enough to receive something made by her.
Family was central to Violetta's life, and she will be remembered with love by her sister, Florence Hood. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Martin Milkovits, Steven "Butch" Milkovits, Peter Milkovits, Anthony "Tony" Milkovits, Michael Milkovits, Sandra Bare-Regalado, Allen Hood, Denis Williamson, Carl Williamson, Russell Heller Jr., Darlene Steigerwalt, Bruce Williamson, and Debra Williamson. Her family will remember her as someone who offered warmth, steadiness, and care, and whose presence brought comfort and connection.
Violetta was preceded in death by several beloved family members, including her parents Francis C. Williamson and Mary A. (Renner) Williamson, siblings Anna Heller, Helen Milkovitz, Howard Williamson, Charles Williamson, and Raymond Williamson, as well as her nephew Edmund Hood. Their memories remained a part of her life, and she carried her family ties with deep affection throughout the years.
Those who knew Violetta will remember her as a woman of grace and quiet strength, someone who met life with patience and dignity.
