Robert P. Maccini of Arlington, MA has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved him.

The chapters of his life were many; these are some of them.

Robert spent his working life as ['mechanical engineer at Stone and Webster'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

To raise a child is to give the world a future. Robert did this with care.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Peter Maccini ("Bob"), who left this world on May 3, 2026, at the age of 85.

Bob was born in Cambridge and spent much of his life in Arlington, where he built a life centered on family, hard work, and laughter. He worked as a mechanical engineer at Stone and Webster, a career he took great pride in.

He is survived by his three children, Robert and his partner Mary of Reading, MA, Susan and her husband Cody of Eagle Point, OR, and Patricia Maccini of New York. He was a devoted and loving Papa to his four grandchildren-Jaclyn, Danielle, Matthew, Greyson, ichael and his first great granddaughter, Betty, who brought him endless joy. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

Bob loved the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid golfer who looked forward to his Saturday rounds, and he cherished his travels to Myrtle Beach, Las Vegas, Florida, and New Hampshire. More than anything, he loved being surrounded by family, telling stories, and making everyone laugh. He had a way of bringing light into any room.

He was a man who always made sure his family was taken care of, no matter what. His heart was the biggest one there ever was.

Bob was known for his humor and the sayings that made everyone smile, including, "I thought it was supposed to get easier when you got older," and "The world is like Fanny Farmer-mixed and assorted nuts." He is now reunited with his beloved wife-back with Momma once again.

This is not goodbye, but "until we meet again." We love you, Dad, Papa.

It has been requested that in lieu of flowers donations are to be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
