Tiffany Smith of Athens, OH has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.

A life remembered begins, simply, with the telling.

Time has its way of binding people together.

The Plains - Tiffany Smith, 45, of The Plains, passed away, Monday, May 4, 2026 at her residence.Born September 1, 1980 in Fort Knox, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Teresa Holcomb Conner and the late Don Conner. Tiffany was a 1998 graduate of Logan High School and was employed at McDonald’s in Athens as an assistant manger for many years. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, riding motorcycles, attending Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State Buckeyes football games and going on her annual trip to Myrtle Beach. She never passed a yard sale she wouldn’t stop for, there wasn’t a cat she wouldn’t take care of or a Chuckie doll she didn’t collect. Most of all, her family was her happy place.Along with her mother, she is survived by her husband of twenty-seven years, John Smith; four sons, John Smith Jr.(Shyanne Jones), Nicholas Smith (Robbin Carroll), Kevin Smith, Nathan Lax; one daughter, Amanda (Chance) Lax; five grandchildren, Zyla, Donivan, Willow, Ava and Leila; one sister, Candy Conner; one brother-in-law, Chuck (Laura) Smith Jr and two sisters-in-law, Theresa Comer (Michael Thurman) and Mary (Doug) Fick.Besides her father, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Cohen Smith.Services will be announces at a later date.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.Arrangements have been entrusted with the Hughes Funeral Home in Athens.
