Virginia "Momo" Garcia, age 79, passed away surrounded by her family on May 2, 2026. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, May 7, 2026, at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church with interment to follow at Idalou Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 6:00PM, Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at St. Philip Benizi. Arrangements under the personal care of the Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Idalou. Virginia was born Virginia Peralez on November 2, 1946, in Rosebud, Texas to Mauricia (Martinez) and Catarino Peralez. She married Jose Garcia on September 16, 1968, they had a happy home surrounded by their loving family. Virginia was first a homemaker caring for her husband and children, yet she was very active in her community, especially her church. She proudly served as a member of the Guadalupana Society. She also loved spending time with her many grandchildren; she never missed one of their events. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Garcia on July 12, 2018, her parents, her sisters, Katherine Olguin, Jesse Peralez and Beatrice Peralez, and her son-in-law, Kerry Riley. Virginia is survived by her children, sons, Gabriel Garcia of Idalou and Jeremy Garcia (Jennifer) of Arlington, daughters, Michelle Lopez of Aubrey, Geneva Garcia (Stephen) of Lubbock and Natalie Riley of Frisco, her grandchildren, Matthew Garcia, Allyson Lopez, Ethan Garcia (Leigha Martinez), Ava Lopez, Marisol Garcia, Ryan Garcia, Alejandro Garcia, Esteban Garcia, Maura Riley, Logan Riley, Dustin Tietjens and Brooke Skowrons, and one great grandchild, Stevie Ray Garcia.
