William "Prunes" Beslanovits of North Catasauqua, PA has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved him.

What follows is a brief look at the life his family wishes to share.

There is no greater gift than the one a parent gives by simply being present.

William "Prunes" Beslanovits, 98, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, at Above and Beyond at the Knights.

Born in Coplay, he was the son of the late Adolf and Theresa (Csensits) Beslanovits.

Prunes proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. His military service remained a source of pride throughout his life, reflected in the photo of him in uniform that still hangs along Hokendauqua Street. Following his service, he dedicated many years to his work at General Supply Lumber Company, the Fuller Company, and the Coplay Cement Company.

Prunes could always be found cheering on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team. In his younger days he enjoyed bowling and playing pinochle with his friends, but perhaps nothing brought him more satisfaction than caring for his yard-often riding his mower multiple times a week to maintain what many would call a golf-course-quality lawn.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Susan (Bill) Ehritz, Karen (Perry) Schaffer, Bill (Lisa) Beslanovits, and Lori (Rob) Reitenauer; his grandchildren: Emily, Gretchen, Carly, Steven, Ellen, Bailey, and Nathan; and his great-grandchildren: Penny, Juliette, and Danny. He is also survived by his sister, Johanna Karr. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by seven siblings.

Calling hours will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, at St. Peter's RCC, 4 S. 5th Street, Coplay, PA 18037, followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to O'Donnell Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Peter's RCC care of the funeral home, 1064 5th Street N. Catasauqua, PA 18032.
