William Russell "Bill" Frank of Lewisville, TX, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.
Here is what we wish the world to know of William.
There is a discipline of duty that shapes a life long after the uniform is set aside.
William Russell Frank, lovingly known as "Bill," passed away on April 29, 2026, at the age of 82.
Bill lived a life defined by service, strength, and quiet compassion. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, carrying the same sense of duty into every chapter of his life. After his time in the military, he continued serving his community as a firefighter, bravely protecting lives and property with courage and dedication. He later became a registered nurse, where he provided care and comfort to those in need and was known for his steady presence and kind heart.
Beyond his many roles of service, Bill found his greatest peace and joy in the simple beauty of country living. He loved being outdoors, spending time in nature, and embracing the quiet rhythm of life in the country. Whether working outside or simply enjoying the open air, those moments reflected the heart of who he was.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, William S. Frank; his mother, Dorothy Laura Jarrett; his beloved stepfather, Jesse Clinton Jarrett; and his sister, Vickie Lynn Cathey, and her husband, Cecil Cathey.
Those left to celebrate his life include his daughter, Katana Gurkin, and her husband, Tim Gurkin; his two grandchildren, Lauren Ashley Gurkin and Garrett Grayson Gurkin. His son, Billy Stroud and two grandsons. His brother, Jesse Jarrett III, and his wife, Jane; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and neighbors.
Bill will be remembered for his unwavering sense of duty, his quiet strength and the compassion he showed to everyone he encountered. His life was one of service-to his country, his community, and those in need-and his legacy will live on in the many lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held on May 13 at 1:00 PM at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
