Beverly Virginia Blaske of Sacramento, CA has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.
What follows is not the whole story, but a thread of it.
Beverly spent her working life as ['the State of California for five years'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
The heart keeps better records than the calendar.
Beverly Virgina (May) Blaske, 99, of Placerville, California passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026.Bev was born on October 9, 1926 in San Francisco, California to Harold and Rita (Hancock) May. She moved to Placerville, California as a child, later moved to Sacramento where she spent most of her life, and moved back to Placerville in 2008 where she resided until her passing. Bev graduated from El Dorado High School in Placerville in 1944 and was a lifetime member of the El Dorado High School Alumni Association. She studied nursing at Sacramento Jr. College, was employed by the State of California for five years, and concluded her working career after 25 years as food service worker for the Sacramento City School District. Accompanied by her late husband, Edward, she had a passion for golfing, social events, jeeping, and world travel. She and Ed were members of the Cold Springs Country Club in Placerville for many years. They volunteered for the American Legion Post 119 Cook Crew for the Jeepers Jamboree on the Rubicon Trail for over 20 years. She visited countless countries around the world and delighted in observing unique cultures. Bev’s fun, energetic, disciplined, and determined nature was evident to all who knew her.Bev is survived by her daughter, Sandra Linnenbrink; grandchildren, Chad Linnenbrink (Melanie) and Alicia Brenner; great grandchildren, Jackson, Rebekah, Maycee, and Joshua; her sister, Barbara Luther; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; and her son, Daniel.A celebration of life will be held on May 11, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Diamond Springs Mobile Home Park Clubhouse, 3550 China Garden Road, Placerville, CA 95667. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the El Dorado County Animal Shelter.
