Everett H. "Ernie" Pickett Jr. of Evansville, IN has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved him.

Everett H. Pickett Jr., born on June 29, 1944, passed away on May 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, devotion, and love that will be cherished by all who knew him.
He was a devoted husband to Sandy for 40 years and a proud and loving father to Chris Pickett and his wife Rachel, Samantha Garrett and her husband Justin, Wendy Pickett, David Lee Pickett and James Pickett and his wife Jody. He was also a treasured grandpa to Dillon and Savannah, and his family brought him great joy throughout his life. Ernie was a caring brother to Betty Pickett and was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Rose Christina Pickett, as well as his siblings Jim Pickett and Maggie Pickett.
Ernie served his country in the United States Air Force, an experience that reflected his sense of duty and commitment. He later earned a degree in Drafting, which helped shape his professional path and contributed to the strong work ethic for which he was known. He retired from CACI, where he worked with Crane Naval Base as a Civil Engineer. Through his career, Ernie was respected for his knowledge, reliability, and dedication to doing his work well.
A man of faith, Ernie was a member of Keck Baptist in Evansville, Indiana. His relationship with the Lord was central to his life, and he found comfort and joy in his beliefs. He especially loved gospel music, which reflected the spirit and devotion that guided him each day. Those who knew Ernie will remember a man who lived with quiet strength, steadfast faith, and a deep love for his family.
Ernie life was marked by kindness, loyalty, and a steady presence that brought comfort to those around him. He was the kind of man who valued family above all else and who showed his love through his actions, his words, and his faithful example. His memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, sister, extended family, friends, and church family.
Though he will be deeply missed, Everett H. Pickett Jr. will be remembered with gratitude for the life he lived and the love he shared. His family and friends will continue to honor his memory by carrying forward the values he held dear, including faith, devotion, and love of family.
