Patricia Ann Deffendoll, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side, on April 22, 2026, in Evansville, Indiana, at the age of 76.
Patricia was born on October 5, 1949, in Evansville, Indiana, and she remained connected to the community she called home throughout her life. She was the beloved wife of Jack Deffendoll for 58 wonderful years and a cherished sister to Colette Hayes, Martha Hayes, Joy Mahan (Ron), Roxanne Bottiglierie (Joe), and Larry McGinnis. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Jones, and her father, Thomas McGinnis. Patricia leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom will remember her with deep affection and gratitude.
Patricia will be remembered most for the loving and generous spirit she brought into the lives of others. She had a huge heart and was known for caring for everyone around her, often placing the needs of others before her own. Her compassion was evident in the way she lived each day, and her presence brought comfort, warmth, and kindness to those fortunate enough to know her. She had a natural gift for making people feel valued and cared for, and that gift will be remembered always.
In her personal life, Pat enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought her joy and comfort. She loved animals and had a special tenderness toward them that reflected her gentle nature. She was also a devoted fan of Gunsmoke and The Andy Griffith Show. Pat was an enthusiastic Elvis Presley fan, and his music was among the many things that added a touch of happiness to her days.
Those who knew Patricia will remember her as a woman of strength, warmth, and sincerity. She lived with a loving heart and gave generously of herself to family and friends. Her life was marked by devotion to those she loved, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to share in her life. Her family and friends will forever cherish the many moments, conversations, and acts of kindness that made her so special.

Funeral services to celebrate Patricia's life will be held on Monday, April 27th, 2026 at Noon. Friends may call on the family from 10 a.m. until service time on Monday at Sunset Funeral Home, 1800 St. George Road. Interment will immediately follow in the cemetery.
