Helen Elizabeth Borne, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on April 29, 2026, at the age of 97 in Wyandotte, Michigan. Born on October 10, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan, she lived a long and fulfilling life.

Throughout her years, Helen found joy in the simple pleasures. She was an avid reader, delighting in the pages of Reader's Digest and the Detroit Free Press. Her love for her family extended to her cherished grandchildren and granddogs, with whom she shared countless precious moments.

Helen was a true lover of nature, finding peace and happiness in camping trips and tranquil days by the lake. She spent many joyful years at Joslin Lake, creating memories that her family will hold dear forever.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert Borne, and stepbrother, Louis Liggett. Helen leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Karen (Mark) Simon, Kathryn (Steve) Pfaffenberger, Susan (Gary) Wachler, Thomas (Loretta) Borne, and Marcy (the late Joseph) Youngs. Her memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren: Kerri (Steven) Gonda, Amy Pfaffenberger, David Wachler, Tamara (Adrian) Antaya, Aaron Borne, Lisa Youngs, and Eric Youngs; as well as her great-grandchildren: Andrew Cambell, Isabella Garza, Nora Borne, and George Gonda.

Helen's warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's name can be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
