The family of Anita M. Moreno of Harlingen, TX announces her passing, and invites all who knew her to remember her here.

The chapters of her life were many; these are some of them.

Anita held deeply to the Catholic faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Faith gave Anita a place to stand, and a place to return to.

Anita M. Moreno, 80, of Harlingen, Texas, entered into eternal rest on May 3, 2026. She was born on February 23, 1946, in Mercedes, Texas to Jose Martinez and Herminia Dominguez, who preceded her in death.

Anita was a woman full of warmth, creativity, and love for her family. She was a devoted pet lover and adored her dogs. In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing Bingo and found joy in crafting, quilting, crocheting, gardening, and sewing. She lovingly made clothing for her daughter when she was younger, a testament to her care and dedication as a mother.

Anita also made the best tamales which were a favorite among family and friends, and she often made delicious menudo upon the loving request of her husband.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband, Domingo Moreno, Jr.; her daughter, Linda Ramirez; and her grandchildren, Kimberly Gonzalez (Ernie), Bruce Garza (Valeria), Bianca Anciso, and Brittney Anciso. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, extended family members, and many friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and a recitation of the holy rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026, departing the Rudy Garza Funeral Home at 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Peace Catholic Church and burial will follow at Heavenly Grace Cemetery.
