There are losses that teach us the weight of a life.
Beth Ann Hamby Grant, age 65, of Evansville, known for her heart of gold, passed away on April 21, 2026, in Evansville with her family by her side.
Born on December 30, 1960, in Evansville, Beth lived a life marked by love, generosity, and devotion to the people who meant the most to her. She carried herself with a kind and steady spirit, and those who knew her will remember her for the warmth she brought into every room. Beth had a gentle heart and a giving nature, and she was always willing to put others before herself. Her life was centered around family, and she found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved.
Beth was a wonderful grandmother who cherished each of her grandchildren deeply. She was proud to be Grandma to Derek, Darren, Kayla, Kaylee, Jacob, Morgan, Ginny, Amy, Jamie, Asher, and Eliza. Her love for her grandchildren was evident in the way she spoke about them, supported them, and celebrated their lives. She treasured the time spent with them and created memories that will be held close by her family forever.
She was also a loving mother to Amanda Grant, Corey Grant, and the late Jamey Grant. Beth embraced motherhood with devotion and strength, and her children were the center of her world. She was also a bonus mother to Robert Grant and the late Gina Grant, extending her love and care beyond the boundaries of family by birth. Her home and her heart were always open, and she made everyone around her feel welcomed and valued.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Alma Hamby, whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her siblings, Belinda Grannan and her husband Bill, Jon Hamby and his wife Kim, and Paul Hamby and his wife Amy. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will remember her with affection and gratitude. The bonds she shared with her family were strong and enduring, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
In addition to her devotion to family, Beth was known for her many talents and simple joys. She was a wonderful chef and baker, and she took pride in preparing meals and treats that brought people together. Her kitchen was often a place of comfort, laughter, and good memories. She also loved going to Bingo with her many friends and the bingo family. She was also known to create beautiful, crocheted items that she gifted to others. Beth found happiness in the company of her loved ones, and she made ordinary times feel special through her laughter, kindness, and care.
Beth Ann Grant will be remembered as a loving mother, devoted grandmother, cherished sister, and faithful friend. Her life was a reflection of compassion, selflessness, and family devotion. Though her absence leaves a deep void, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Her family takes comfort in knowing that her kindness, her strength, and her love will remain a lasting part of their lives.
Services will be held at Sunset Funeral home in the Chapel of Peace Friday May 1st, 2026, visitation will at 10 to 11 and services will be held at 11.
