Betty held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

A life of faith is rarely a life of certainty — but always one of trust.

Betty Jane Ledford, was born on February 28, 1938 to Ed and Dellia Sweet of Sweetwater, TN. Betty passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Woods Presbyterian Home where she lived for the past 4 years. She was a faithful member of North Sweetwater Baptist Church. Betty was preceded in death by both of her parents and husband: Doug Ledford, and many brothers.

Betty is survived by her sisters: Mary Lee Miller, and Sarah McLemore, step-grandsons: George and Eddie Ledford, many step-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Sweetwater Memory Chapel from 12:00 noon until 1:45 P.M. Graveside service and interment to follow at 2:00 P.M. in the Sweetwater Memorial Park with Rev. Bill Wilson officiating. Sweetwater Memory Chapel in charge of arrangements. www.kykerfuneralhomes.
