Janette Rhodes Sloan, age 86, of Sweetwater, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 2, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sweetwater for many years. She was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her family and traveling. Preceded in death by her parents: Rex and Mary Rhodes, husband: W.E. Sloan, grandson: Tyler Plemons, brothers: Charles Wesley Rhodes, Rex "Dusty" Rhodes, Larry "Rabbit" Rhodes, special cousin: Evelyn McConkey.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Daphne and Steve Hamm, granddaughter: Amber and Eric Thompson, great-grandchildren: Hadlee, Granger, and Lauren Thompson, all of Sweetwater, sister and brother-in-law: Tonya and Ben Walden, of Waynesboro, GA., special cousin: Linda Tapley, of Sweetwater, several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 P.M. in Kyker's Chapel.
