The family of Carol Sharp Tokoph of Phoenix, AZ announces her passing, and invites all who knew her to remember her here.

What follows is a brief look at the life her family wishes to share.

A life is built quietly, day by day.

Our beautiful matriarch, Carol Sharp Tokoph, passed away peacefully in her home on April 24, 2026, exactly as she desired, surrounded by her family to the sound of, "What a Friend We Have In Jesus". Throughout Carol's life, she remained strong and steadfast in her faith. Even on the hardest days, she turned to her Savior and prayed without ceasing. We rejoice in Carol being face to face with Jesus. Asking Him every question she's ever had…

Carol lived a full and beautiful life in her 84 years. Born on November 6th, 1941 in Greensboro, North Carolina to her parents, Volney (Jiggs) and Dorothy (Dot) Tucker. Soon after, Carol would become a big sister to her adoring little brother, Philip (Bud) Tucker. The family moved a few times before settling in Royal Oak, Michigan. She would join the choir at Dondero High School before graduating in 1960.

In 1963, Carol fell in love and married her wonderful husband, Wayne Tokoph, on October 25, in her family home. The pair would grow from two to six in a matter of 8 years. The proud mother to Joseph Tokoph (Bonnie), Matthew Tokoph (Dina), Julie Lopez, and Thomas Tokoph (Alicia). The family would move to Arizona in 1975, where they purchased the Biltwell Resort, later renovating it into the Cornerstone Inn and Resort. Carol was well known for her interior design work, specifically the themed rooms around the resort. Carol had an eye for creating unique spaces and welcoming any and every one.

In addition to all of this, Carol found the time to indulge her life's greatest passion, Biblical end times prophecy. In 1991, after a life of study and research, Carol authored a book and study guide titled "Prophecy in the 21st Century". Her expansive knowledge is evident in every page. She was truly a scholar in the world of eschatology, and enjoyed discussing and defending her beliefs.

After their time as hoteliers, they relocated to Scottsdale and ultimately built their forever home in 1998. Over time, she would lovingly become, "Gammies", to 13 grand and great grandchildren. Carol was very proud of the big, beautiful family she and Wayne created together. Their home was often filled with her delicious food, their growing family, and always an angel somewhere around the room.

Carol looked forward to the day she would be reunited with her mother, father, and brother. More importantly, she looked forward to being in the arms of Jesus. While Carol will be missed by her family, they rejoice in knowing she is exactly where she wants to be. Her beautiful family legacy, decades of wisdom, and cherished memories will live on through those who loved her most.
