The family of Carolyn Jean Lutomski of Texas City, TX announces her passing, and invites all who knew her to remember her here.

What remains is memory — and the gratitude of those she loved.

Carolyn held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

A life of faith is rarely a life of certainty — but always one of trust.

Carolyn (Red) Lutomski was born on September 25th, 1946, in Galveston, Texas and

passed away Sunday May 3rd, 2026. She was seventy-nine years old.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Gladys and father, John Ryan, brother, John Jr., and sisters, Evelyn, Susan, and Vivian.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Gerald "Jerry" Lutomski; daughters, Dawn (Tom) and, Darlene (Choate); grandson, Dillon (Kali) as well as many nephews and nieces and friends. She is also survived by brothers, James, Ryan, and Mike Ryan.

It all began when we met each other as I was stationed in Galveston, Texas in the Coast Guard. One of my buddies on the ship was dating a girl in Galveston, so he asked me if I wanted to double date, so I said sure why not. Wow when I saw Carolyn I went head over heels. It's been up hill ever since. We dated for a while, then got married, then had two beautiful girls.

Carolyn worked for Sam's Club for about ten years before retiring, she enjoyed cruising. We cruised at least twenty-five cruises. She never met a stranger, if somebody was close to her, she would talk to them. She was just the type of person we all should be. That's my girl….till we meet again.

One last special gratitude to the Carnes Funeral Home, many people may not know but I work at Carnes. I would like to give a great big thank you to everyone. Your thoughts and prayers during this sorrowful time were really appreciated. Thank you – thank you – thank you. Also, a big thank you to our people in Huntsville at Grace Baptist Church, Pastor David Beaty, Gina Bradford, and Chaplin Lowe.
