Julie Marks Gartner, age 64, Beloved wife of Ron Shtulman; cherished mother of Ben and Chloe Gartner; stepmother of Melissa (Jordan) Kaplan and Evan Shtulman; loving Yaya of grandchildren Roman Gartner, Blake and Taylor Kaplan; beloved daughter of Jack and Sheila Marks; dear sister of Lori (Michael) Harris and Paula (Jeremy) Alexander; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Julie passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at home, surrounded by her family.
Julie graduated with a degree in Business from Northwestern University and with an MBA from DePaul University. Julie treasured the importance of friends and family and was committed to knitting together the next generation. She made an indelible impression on everyone who knew her, and she will be remembered for her strength and gentle kindness.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday May 6th, at 11 AM at Shir Hadash Synagogue, 200 W. Dundee Rd., Wheeling. Interment to follow at Shalom Memorial Park–Arlington Heights. The funeral and interment can be viewed on Julie's webpage on www.mitzvahfunerals.com, live, or any time after the funeral.
