Here is what mattered, in the years between the dates.

Linda Bonewitz, beloved wife of Don Bonewitz, passed away in Overland Park, Kansas on March 5, 2026. She was born on November 26, 1942, in Independence, Missouri to Lawrence Lynch and Margaret Mitchell.

Affectionately known as Linda Marie, Auntie Linda, and DeeDee, Linda was known for her bright smile, playful spirit, and zest for life. Her infectious enthusiasm and generous heart made her a joy to be around. She loved children, cherished her role as an aunt and great-aunt, and found great pleasure in reading mystery thrillers, cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs, and sharing her deep love for cats. Linda was an adamant Democrat and a proud atheist, holding firm to her beliefs throughout her life.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Lynch and Margaret Mitchell; her son, Kyle Williamson; brothers-in-law Mike Mead and Jerry Bonewitz; and her beloved cats Trinity, Neo, Buster, Annie, and Daisy.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Don; her sister, Peggy Lynch; sister-in-law, Janice Heimgarner-Bax (Tom Bax); nieces Courtney Albers (Ken Cooper), Amy Albers and DeAnn Hanson (Dave Hanson); nephew David Dillon (Becka Dillon); and nine great-nieces and nephews. Linda's adventurous spirit, warmth, and joyful presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

A gathering of family, friends and neighbors will be held at the home with an open house from 2pm to 5pm on June, 13, 2026. A spreading of Linda's ashes will be held in the backyard with a eulogy given by Linda's nieces, Courtney and DeAnn. Ashes to be spread by Linda's great-nieces Chandler and Elizabeth.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to KU Cancer Center.
