The family of Sarah Johnson of Riverton, WY announces her passing, and invites all who knew her to remember her here.

What follows is not the whole story, but a thread of it.

The heart keeps better records than the calendar.

Sarah Elaine Johnson, 71, passed away on May 1, 2026, at SageWest Hospital in Riverton, Wyoming, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and deep connection with those she cherished most.

Sarah is survived by her sister, Beth Santor; her niece, Crystal Santor; and her significant other of 30 years, Tom Campbell. She also leaves behind her stepchildren, Val Crippen (Trent Crippen) and Jason Campbell (Marci Campbell); her step-grandchildren, Rylee Blanco (Paul), Karlee Crippen, Reed Campbell, and Cade Campbell; and her step-great-grandchildren, Keaton and Myra Blanco.

Sarah built a life defined by hard work and creativity. She owned Silk Designs and was a half owner of JCS Trucking, reflecting her determination and independent spirit.

She found her greatest joy in the simple and meaningful moments. She loved sewing, spending time with her dogs, and enjoying lunches and coffee with her best friends. Sarah had a distinguished, unforgettable laugh that filled a room and made people feel at home. She was especially known for her famous smoked macaroni and cheese and her competitive and fun-loving spirit during family dice games at Christmas.

Some of the most treasured memories of Sarah include time spent at Shoshone Lake, four-wheeling, and simply being with the people she loved. She had a special way of showing her care through the little things, like thoughtfully making tea towels to hang in the kitchen and working hard to get each one just right.

More than anything, Sarah will be remembered for the love she gave, the joy she brought, and the way she made ordinary moments feel special. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

A Celebration of her life will be held for family and friends on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Tom and Sarah's home, 1315 E. Adams Street in Riverton.

Cremation has taken place in accordance with her wishes.
