It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of George Andersen of Riverton, WY — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.

Some stories deserve to be told slowly. This is one of them.

What is given freely returns in ways we cannot measure.

No services will be held for George W. Andersen, II, who passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, in Riverton, Wyoming.

George was born on February 24, 1962, in Las Vegas, Nevada, the son of Arthur W. Andersen and Wilma M. (Jones) Andersen. He was raised and educated in Las Vegas and graduated from VoTech High School.

On May 30, 1992, George married Nancy N. Peterson in Las Vegas, Nevada, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned more than three decades.

Throughout his life, George made his home in several places, including Peoria, Arizona; Cody, Wyoming; Butte, Montana; El Dorado Hills, California; and most recently Riverton, Wyoming. Wherever he lived, he was known for his strong work ethic and independent spirit.

George found great enjoyment in the outdoors and working with his hands. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, dog training, and mechanics. He turned his passion into his profession as the owner and operator of The Toy Shop in Shingle Springs, California.

He was also a proud member of Ducks Unlimited.

George is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Andersen of Riverton, Wyoming; his son, Gregory Andersen of Terre Haute, Indiana; and his daughters, Elizabeth Andersen of Mead, Colorado, and Jasmine Andersen of Citrus Heights, California. He is also survived by his parents, Art and Carol Andersen and Billie Robertson; seven grandchildren; his brother, Randy Robertson; and his sisters, Julie Cliff, Jill Andersen, Jana Falcone, and JoAnna Falcone.

He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his love of the outdoors, and his willingness to lend a helping hand.
