Jane (Harvey) Babine of South Boston passed away on April 25, 2026. She was born in Boston on May 24, 1949, to the late William and Clara (Walker) Harvey. Devoted mother of Laurel Babine. Loving grammy of Claire McMillen both of South Boston. Cherished sister of William Harvey and his wife Ria of Ohio. Aunt of Anthony Harvey and his wife Ashley and their children Will and Wes of IL. Dear friend of Judy DiMaggio and Judi Cassino. Pre-deceased by her loving companion of many years William "Duba" Joyce and lifelong friend Evelyn O'Malley. Visitation in the O'Brien Funeral Home 146 Dorchester St South Boston on Friday May 1st from 4-8pm. Funeral Mass in St. Brigid Church 841 East Broadway South Boston on Saturday May 2nd at 12pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
Jane was longtime employee of South Boston Savings Bank and the South Boston Neighborhood House. She was also member of South Boston Irish American Club and Castle Island Association. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jane's memory to the South Boston Neighborhood house "Senior Programs" 136 H St. South Boston, MA 02127.
