Kathryn “Susie” Klash of Corpus Christi, TX has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.

What follows is not the whole story, but a thread of it.

Kathryn held deeply to the Catholic faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Belief, when lived, becomes a kind of inheritance.

Kathryn "Susie" Klash passed away on May 2, 2026, at the age of 82 surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of faith, compassion, strength, and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Susie was a truly remarkable woman whose loving heart and gentle spirit touched countless lives. She always had a kind word of encouragement for those around her and gave endlessly of herself to family, friends, neighbors, and anyone in need.

She was born in Fairmont, West Virginia to her parents John Edward and Kathryn Josephine (Rosser) Mohn on November 17, 1943.

She married the love of her life, Edward John Klash, on March 18, 1960, in Winchester, Virginia. They were longtime residents of Steubenville, Ohio, where they raised their family, before relocating to Corpus Christi, Texas.

A devout Catholic and faithful servant of God, Susie lived her life with grace, humility, and unwavering faith. She dedicated much of her life to serving others through charitable work, especially organizations focused on feeding the poor and helping families in need. Her commitment to her church community was profound, and she proudly served as President of the Catholic Women's Club, where her leadership, kindness, and servant's heart made a lasting impact.

Above all else, Susie cherished her family. She lovingly helped raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, guidance, and unconditional love. Her family dinners became treasured traditions, where her extraordinary cooking brought everyone together around the table. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, joy, and togetherness, and her meals were made with the same love she poured into every part of her life.

Susie will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose faith and compassion shaped generations. Her love was steadfast, her generosity endless, and her presence a blessing to all who knew her. Though deeply missed, her family finds peace in knowing she now rests in the loving embrace of the Lord she faithfully served throughout her life. May Kathryn "Susie" Klash's memory forever be a blessing.

Susie was predeceased by husband, Edward John Klash; her parents, John Edward and Kathryn Josephine (Rosser) Mohn; her siblings, Josephine Rose Satterfield, John Steven Mohn, Jeannie Marie Satterfield, Dianna Lynn Schiappa; her son, Vaughn Steven Klash; and her grandson, David Rasor.

Susie leaves behind her siblings, Linda Darlene Robinson, Mark Mohn, Sid Lauver, and Jimmy Lauver; her children, Edward John Klash II (Gloria), Brian Edward Klash (Erin), and Sue Ann Tencet-Lamkin (Kenneth). She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Christa Marie Yde (James), Melanie Corrine Rasor (Rob), Amanda Nicole Rasor, Edward John Klash III (Jade), and Susan Alexandria "Alex" Klash (Frank), Austin Benjamin Klash, as well as her great-grandchildren, Dax Garrison, Camila Serrano, Evelyn Klash, and Charlotte Klash, as well as numerous extended family members.
