After a life of love and quiet grace, Algernon Dallas Carr of Fayetteville, NC has passed.

Here is what mattered, in the years between the dates.

Algernon held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

Some find their compass in faith. Algernon was among them.

Mr. Algernon Dallas Carr, 68 of 5455 Hubble Dr. Apt. B, Fayetteville, NC passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at home.

The funeral service will be held at 12pm, Friday, May 8, 2026 at Wilson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Turkey, NC with Rev. James Jackson officiating.

Burial in Church Cemetery.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Darlene Bright Carr of Warsaw, North Carolina; his children, Makesha Carr of Greensboro, North Carolina, Algernon "Dee" Carr, and Mandweld Bright of Warsaw, North Carolina. His legacy continues through his eight cherished grandchildren: Destiny and Jemiah Kennedy, Jurnee Carr, Skyi Brinson, Zaniyah and Aaliyah Carr, and Aria and Emmanuel Bright, each a reflection of his enduring love.

Al is also survived by his siblings, Robert Ervin Carr (Phyllis) of Turkey, North Carolina; Sharon (Cheryl) Carr; of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Joyce Simmons of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will deeply miss his presence.

There will be no public viewing.
