After a life of love and quiet grace, Allie Virginia Jacox of Minneapolis, MN has passed.

Allie spent her working life as ['various employers', 'the Minneapolis School District Allie received a multitude of recognitions'] and held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

OBITUARY ALLIE V. BELL JACOX February 16, 1935 – March 13, 2026
Allie Virginia Bell Jacox was born in Glendora Mississippi on February 16, 1935, to Francis Bell, Sr. and Julia Scrulock Bell. Shortly after Allie was born, the Bell family moved to Mound Bayou, MS, an all-black town that was established by a former slave. After graduation from High School, Allie attended Henderson Business College in Memphis, TN. Once she graduated from Henderson, Allie went to HBCU Lane College in Jackson, TN where she met her future husband Henry E. Jacox Sr. They were married on May 24, 1956. The happy couple lived in Maury City, TN until they moved to Minneapolis MN in 1963. After relocating to Minneapolis, Allie joined Sabathani Baptist Church. She went on to join several other churches during her lifetime that included Macedonia Baptist Church, Redeemer Baptist Church, New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, and Mt Olivet Baptist Church. She was an active usher wherever she attended. She also attended Kingdom Life Church on a regular basis. The Jacox family moved to Bloomington in 1973, where Allie lived the remainder of life. Allie was very industrious. She worked for various employers, and started her own business, but ultimately retired from the Minneapolis School District Allie received a multitude of recognitions, some of which include the City of Bloomington, Mpls/St. Paul Spokesman, NUCUAA Usher of the year, special recognitions for 3 rd oldest usher, and Mpls NAACP Leadership Award just to name a few. As a child Allie attended Wanderer's Home Church in Mound Bayou, MS, where she gave her heart to the Lord and her love for ushering was born. She attended both local and National workshops and conferences on a regular basis to bring back information that she could use to train and share
with others. She also taught at some of the National Conventions. Allie was an usher for over 80 years and enjoyed every minute of it. Allie was not only a usher, she was passionate about community work and working with the youth. She served as a Youth Leadership advisor for the NAACP as well. Her arms were far reaching. She is well known in the community and to know her, was to love her. There were many who called her mom, as she listened, encouraged and provided wisdom to all. She loved to cook, bake and sew. If you ever ate anything Allie cooked, you would be hooked on her cooking and ice cream. Allie had a large giving heart and was always willing to share whatever she had with others. Allie is also infamous for her beautiful outfits, and matching hats, of which she had many for every occasion. She is survived by her 8 children Tchaikousky, Navaniska, Stowoskies, Henry Jr. (Angela), Spolinsky, Willis (CeCe), Joseph, and Leaosure. 19 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Her sister Katherine Rice of Harvey, IL, And Sister-in-law Carolyn Abrom of San Bernadino, CA, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by Her Husband, Henry, Sr., grandson, Leon Lambert and great grandson Jermaine Jacox. Allie was a strong woman of faith and accepted Christ in her life at the early age of 10. She dedicated her life to do the Lord's work until he called her home on March 13, 2026. She will greatly be missed by all whose life she touched.
