We measure lives in love, not minutes.
Ana D. Rivera, 80, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, May 3, 2026. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Bernardino Rivera, Sr. "Nando," who died January 26, 2026. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Rev. Angel Mendez & Kennia, Luis Mendez & Candice, Bernie Rivera, Jr. & Gloria, and Myrna Matos & Francisco; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She leaves her siblings Rafael Rivera Mendez, Gloria Nilda Rivera Mendez, Carmen Rivera Mendez, and Hector Rosario Mendez; generations of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. She is pre-deceased by her siblings Reyes Maria Rivera Mendez, and Dolores Rivera Mendez; and her great-grandson Eli Xavier Mendez.
Daughter of the late Jesus Rivera and Maria Mendez, Ana was born, raised and educated in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. After immigrating to the United States and settling in Clinton, Ana and "Nando" settled in Clinton, and together raised their family as integral members of their community. In addition, Ana spent her professional career with Van Brode Milling Company and later with Nypro, Inc. from where she would ultimately retire. A woman of great faith, Ana served God with all her heart and devoted herself to her ministry as a former Pastor, member of Pentecostal Church Council Habakkuk 2:20, and member of Iglesia Pentecostal Nuevo Pacto. Among her many simple pleasures, Ana enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens and feeding her family. Serving her grandchildren hot chocolate, crackers with butter, and her famous pancakes were notable favorites. Above all, Ana was the cherished matriarch of her family who lived by example with a fulfilled life dedicated to her faith and family. In her honor, guests are encouraged to please consider wearing Ana's favorite bright colors, yellow and purple, while attending services.
