Celebrating the Life of Arturo E. Garcia
Arturo Elihu Garcia was born on August 13, 1998, and passed away on April 30, 2026, in San Antonio at Methodist Hospital, surrounded by love.
He is deeply loved and will forever be remembered by his parents, Arturo Martin Garcia and Maria de La Luz Garcia Arriaga, and his siblings, Brenda, Jessica, and Alejandro Garcia. He was also a loving boyfriend, a loyal friend, and someone who left a lasting mark on everyone he met.
Arturo was many things: serious at times, a little shy when you first met him, but once you got to know him, he was lively, fun, and full of charisma. He had a natural way of bringing people together and making everyone feel welcome. He could be the life of the party, yet also grounded and strong in who he was. He was humble, even when he didn't have to be, and he never tried to be anyone but himself.
He had a deep passion for dancing; it was one of his greatest loves. Music was another. As a DJ, he didn't just play songs; he created moments. He loved to connect with people through music and make them feel something, not just hear it. Sports were part of who he was, from his Yankees hats to his Lakers jerseys to his Spurs posters filling his room. And if you knew Arturo, you knew Kobe Bryant was someone he looked up to. He admired the "Mamba Mentality" and carried that mindset into his own life.
Arturo built a career rooted in connection and service. While becoming a realtor wasn't something he originally planned, it quickly became something he loved. His ability to connect with people, serve others, and build relationships made him truly special in his work. Alongside real estate, he lived out his passions as a salsa instructor and DJ; three paths that reflected exactly who he was. Arturo lived a life doing what he enjoyed.
His faith journey was one of transformation. While he was once deeply rooted in faith, there was a time he stepped away and searched for answers elsewhere. But in this last year of his life, everything changed. Through love, guidance, and God's grace, Arturo found his way back. With the support of his girlfriend Joyce, he began attending church again, eventually reconnecting deeply with his faith. He became a proud Christian once more...attending services, sometimes on his own, listening to worship music, reading devotionals, and following Pastor Ed Newton's teachings.
One of his favorite Bible verses was Isaiah 6:8:
"Here I am. Send me."
That verse reflected exactly who Arturo was, someone willing to show up, to carry his burdens quietly, and to stand strong for the people he loved.
What made Arturo special was not just who he was, but how he lived. If you take a moment to hear the stories and look back on his life, you'll see that in just 27 years, he accomplished what many spend a lifetime searching for, living with passion and purpose. As Pastor Ed Newton once shared, "Sometimes, the life of a man isn't measured by how long he lived, but by what he did in his life." That was Arturo.
Above all, we want Arturo to be remembered as a fighter. Even in his hardest moments, he was not afraid. His strength never wavered, his spirit never broke, and his will never gave in. He didn't quit, he didn't run, he endured. He fought until the very end, on his terms.
He truly left this world, ArturoStrong.
