After a life of love and quiet grace, Cynthia Lynn Nash of Massillon, OH has passed.

A life remembered begins, simply, with the telling.

Cynthia spent her working life as ['hairstylist with many long-term loyal clients who became friends'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Time has its way of binding people together.

Cynthia Lynn Nash, (75) of Canton, OH, was welcomed home to be with the Lord on May 5th, 2026, following a determined and courageous battle against brain cancer.Cindy was born on January 11, 1951, in Massillon, the daughter of the late Robert and Nona (Keith) Yost. She was raised in Massillon and attended Canton Central Catholic High School before deciding to go to cosmetology school soon after high school. Cindy was affectionately known as the “Mayor of Greenbriar Hills” by her friends and neighbors and “Social Grandma Cindy” by her loving family. Cindy appreciated every detail in life and was always creating beauty around her. She established a career as a hairstylist with many long-term loyal clients who became friends. There she created a space to do her magic. Many left feeling even more beautiful inside and out after spending time with her. She was also an avid gardener, and she had a green thumb like no other. She loved spending time in her yard and planting gorgeous flowers everywhere she could, leaving evidence she had been there with vibrant flowers following her path. She loved staying busy and was always involved with activities. Her favorite was spending time with close friends and her line dancing group of 25 years. She hosted large family gatherings that filled her home with love and laughter. Thanksgiving was a special one for all her grandchildren and she would always be asked to butter someone’s roll. Her most precious joy of all was her family. Cindy met the love of her life, Steve Nash, in 1972 while working at Mellet Mall in Canton. They were married on Oct 14th, 1973, at Atwood Lake. They were a united and strong team, as they showed up for each other through everything life brought along the way. Cindy was also a proud mother to her three children, and grandmother to her ten amazing grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. She showed her love consistently by being actively present in all their lives and momentous events and from a distance remained connected with daily phone calls and updates. Cindy could always be found on the sidelines cheering them on and showing her support for all her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.Cindy was the oldest of 6 siblings who she loved and adored. They were the true definition of a loving and supportive family who always showed up for one another over the years. Like her mother Nona, Cindy was kind, generous and always put the needs of others before herself. She will be missed by all who know and love her. She was a true friend to so many people over the years and was always the life of the party.Cindy is survived by her husband of 52 years Stephen Nash; her sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Dana Nash, Michael and Karen Nash; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Brad Layman. Her three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Yost, Bill and Carol Yost and Tim and Laura Yost; sisters and brother-in-law, Sandy and John Demarsh and Anne Horton. Her ten grandchildren; Robert, Kassidy, Mikey, Matthew, Landon, Sophia, Austin, Alex, Joey, and Brynn. Her ten nieces and nephews; Julie, Jenny, Kyle, Keith, Ben, Ryan, Jimmy, Holly, Ross, and Veronica. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Yost, and her mother and step-father, Nona and Mike Mitchell.Cindy will always be remembered for being full of life and love. She never met a stranger, and she was intrigued by everyone that was lucky to cross her path. She had the gift of making every person she encountered feel special after being in her presence and will always be cherished for the impact she had on so many. Her legacy can mostly be seen in how her entire family came together to join her in every moment of her battle. She never fought alone. This is her most beautiful creation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to made to the American Brain Cancer Association for Glioblastoma Friends and family are invited to visitation hours at Heitger Funeral Home- Jackson Chapel, on Monday, May 11th, 2026, from 4-8 P.M.Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 10 A.M. at the funeral home.
