It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Allen K. "Bert" Garbart of Washington, PA — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.

Allen spent his working life as ['the Luxury Box in Washington'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

Every life leaves an echo in the lives it has known.

Allen K. "Bert" Garbart, of Washington, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 24, 2026. Born on July 5, 1958, he was the son of the late Suzanne and Arthur Garbart.

Allen was a loving and devoted brother to Rebecca Garbart. He was a proud uncle to Noah (Jessica Neal) Garbart and a loving great-uncle to Raylinn, Amyiah, and Bradyn. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Laurie Johnston.

In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Garbart, and his niece, Richeina Porter.

Allen was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1976. He worked at the Luxury Box in Washington, PA, where he was known for his friendly nature.

He was an avid fan of the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates, and rarely missed a chance to cheer them on. Allen was known for his intelligence, quick wit, and his love of sharing jokes-especially with his nieces and nephews, who always enjoyed his humor.

He treasured time spent with family and friends and was surrounded by many who cared deeply for him. He also had a love for music, particularly the Grateful Dead.

Allen will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, and the warmth he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday May 17, 2026 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Lion's Club Pavillion in Washington Park, 283 Dunn Avenue, Washington, PA 15301

Arrangements have been entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, McMurray, PA.
