It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Cathy Moore Morgan of Metairie, LA — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.
A life remembered begins, simply, with the telling.
Time has its way of binding people together.
Cathy Moore Morgan passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026 at the age of 76. Cathy was born and raised in New Orleans. In 1970 she married John Morgan and they raised their two daughters Stacy and Ashley in Metairie. She was employed at Shell Oil for 32 years and in 2000 she and her husband moved to Slidell. After retirement, Cathy enjoyed time with the Slidell Newcomers Club and was Queen of the Newcomers Club Ball in 2013. Cathy enjoyed spending time with her friends, going out to eat especially at Peck's, playing Bunco and just enjoying life. Cathy never met a stranger and was very compassionate and kind hearted to all.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years John Arthur Morgan, parents Joseph and Frances Wardlaw Moore, and sister Anne Noto. Survived by her two daughters Stacy M., Collins (John) and Ashley M. Bertrand (Corey.), beloved grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews. She loved her family fiercely and her greatest joy was being Mimi to her four grandchildren, Claire, Madeline, Riley and Cole. Cathy will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
The family wishes to thank Hope Hospice especially her nurses Amber and Mackenzie and her assistant Lakaysha. In addition, we thank the staff at Acadia St. Landry Nursing and Rehab in Churchpoint.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Service at Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr. Metairie, La. 70001. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a Service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be immediately thereafter.
