It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Charlie Denise Law Traylor of Nashville, TN — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.

Charlie held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

In loving memory of Charlie Denise Law Traylor (Debe) who entered into eternal rest May 2, 2026. Charlie was born May 14, 1956 to Leo and Emma B. Mitchell Law in Hartsville, Tennessee (Trousdale County).She professed Christ at an early age and was a member ofPilgrim Emmanuel Baptist Church (Tabernacle of GloryChurch) serving as a Sunday School teacher and Faith United Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, TN.A product of the Hartsville, TN school system Charlie graduated as valedictorian of her high school class. Charlie thenmatriculated through Tenseness State University earning a BS. degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree. Charlie was initiated into the Alpha Psi Chapter (42 Whispers) of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc at Tennessee State university in 1975. After graduation Charlie became an active member of the Alpha Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc..Charlie was employed in the Metro Public School system for over 30-years until her retirement.She will be missed by her family and friends. Remembering her with love, devoted husband of 40 years James Anthony Traylor, Sister- Barbara (Wendell) Law Middlebrooks, niece, Wendy Middlebrooks Mobley, great nephew, Judge Mobley IV,nephew, Tommy Lee Traylor, Jr., (nieces) Makayla Holcomb Berry, Sydney Holcomb Berry; (great nephews): Tommy Lee Traylor III, Jordan Traylor, and (cousins): Lois Jean Ray Mitchell (Memphis, TN), Logan Mitchell (Memphis, TN), Dr. Edwina R. Temple (Nashville, TN), Jeffrey Law (Nashville, TN), Michelle (Stanley) McKay Manning (South Carolina), Sydney (Jacob) Manning Guli (South Carolina), Lloyd Bernard (Vivian) Temple, Robert Traylor, Jr. (brother-in-law), Angelique Holcombe (sister-in-law), and other cherished family members and friends.
