It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Dan Naturale Jr. of Montclair, NJ — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.
The following words honor a life that mattered to many.
Dan held deeply to the Catholic faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.
The traditions Dan loved will continue to hold those he loved.
It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel Naturale, Jr. announces his passing on Monday,
April 27, 2026 at the age of 71.
Dan will forever be held in the hearts of his son Daniel (Devin) and grandchildren Delaney and Dylan, daughter Dana (Jim) and grandson Harrison, daughter Cori (Bill) and granddaughter Vivian, sisters Lucy and April (Shirley), brothers Fred (Daria) and Anthony (Michelle), and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Patricia and Daniel.
Dan grew up in Fort Lee, New Jersey and was a graduate of Fort Lee High School. He was a longtime resident of Montclair, New Jersey and Queens, New York. Dan was a construction executive and was very proud of the buildings he helped develop, including the Hudson Tea
Building in Hoboken.
Dan was a natural leader, whose sense of humor was only surpassed by his generosity. He loved his family and took his role as "Grampy Dan" very seriously, always taking the time to play and joke with his grandchildren. He was a self-proclaimed "Car Guy" who loved to buy and sell American muscle cars. His interest in cars was only matched by his appreciation of music,
ranging from the Talking Heads to the Beach Boys. Many songs will be played in his honor.
Visitors will be received on Friday, May 8 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home at 76 Park St. in Montclair, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 9 at 10am at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church at 28 Livingston Ave. in
Roseland, NJ.
