It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Emis C. Umanzor Reyes of North Attleboro, MA — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.
What follows is a brief look at the life her family wishes to share.
Emis spent her working life as ['Uber driver'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
The hands that raised children leave fingerprints on the future.
ATTLEBORO – Emis C. Umanzor Reyes, 49, of Attleboro, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Boston Medical Center after a short illness.
Born on December 1, 1976 in Concepción de Oriente, La Unión, El Salvador, she was a loving daughter of Carlos O. Umanzor and Ofelia Reyes of North Attleboro. Emis grew up in El Salvador and emigrated to the United States in 1995, settling in the Boston area. She later moved to Attleboro, where she had resided for the past eleven years.
Emis worked as an Uber driver, a job she truly enjoyed as it allowed her to meet and connect with many people. A woman of strong Christian faith, she had a kind and joyful spirit and was known for her positive outlook on life. She loved cooking, spending time with children, and caring for others. Emis had a contagious smile and laughter, and a heart full of love for everyone she met. A true warrior in life, she faced challenges with strength and perseverance, always pushing forward and never giving up. Her favorite times were those spent in the company of her adoring family. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her loving parents, Carlos and Ofelia, she is survived by her beloved children, Michael Lazo and Santos Lazo, both of Attleboro. She was the dear sister of Milagros Amaya, Yessenia Umanzor, Isbel Amaya, and Carlos Umanzor, all of North Attleboro. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026 beginning with visitation from 12:00 to 4:00 PM in the SPERRY-MCHOUL-PICHI FUNERAL HOME, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date at Cementerio Boquin in Polorós, La Unión, El Salvador.
ATTLEBORO – Emis C. Umanzor Reyes, de 49 años, residente de Attleboro, falleció inesperadamente el sábado 25 de abril de 2026 en el Boston Medical Center, luego de una breve enfermedad.
Nacida el 1 de diciembre de 1976 en Concepción de Oriente, La Unión, El Salvador, fue la querida hija de Carlos O. Umanzor y Ofelia Reyes de North Attleboro. Emis creció en El Salvador y emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1995, estableciéndose en el área de Boston. Más adelante se mudó a Attleboro, donde vivió durante los últimos once años.
Emis trabajó como conductora de Uber, un trabajo que disfrutaba mucho porque le permitía conocer y compartir con muchas personas. Fue una mujer de profunda fe cristiana, conocida por su bondad, su alegría y su forma positiva de ver la vida. Le encantaba cocinar, cuidar niños y siempre estaba dispuesta a ayudar a los demás. Tenía una sonrisa y una risa contagiosa, y un corazón grande lleno de amor para todos. Fue una mujer luchadora, que enfrentó la vida con fuerza y valentía, siempre saliendo adelante sin rendirse. Sus momentos más felices eran los que compartía con su querida familia. Será profundamente extrañada por todos los que la conocieron y la quisieron.
Además de sus queridos padres, Carlos y Ofelia, deja a sus amados hijos, Michael Lazo y Santos Lazo, ambos de Attleboro. Fue la querida hermana de Milagros Amaya, Yessenia Umanzor, Isbel Amaya y Carlos Umanzor, todos de North Attleboro. También deja muchos sobrinos y sobrinas queridos, así como varios sobrinos nietos.
Sus servicios funerarios, a los cuales familiares y amigos están cordialmente invitados, se llevarán a cabo el domingo 3 de mayo de 2026, comenzando con velación de 12:00 PM a 4:00 PM en la SPERRY-MCHOUL-PICHI FUNERAL HOME, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro, seguida de un servicio funeral a las 4:00 PM en la funeraria.
